Welcome to the Microsoft Fabric and AI Learning Hackathon, your opportunity to delve into the future of AI and cloud innovation with Microsoft Fabric and Azure OpenAI services. Whether you specialize in AI, cloud computing, or databases, this hackathon is the perfect platform to showcase your creativity and technical skills.

Hackathon Focus:

Microsoft Fabric: A powerful platform integrating data engineering, data warehousing, and data science, making it essential for modern data-driven organizations. With built-in AI capabilities, it helps users automate processes, gain insights, and speed up decision-making.
Azure OpenAI: Leverage Azure's OpenAI services with free access, even if you don’t have an Azure account.
Live Support:
Participate in live sessions and workshops hosted by Microsoft Reactor and livestreamed to YouTube. Get answers from organizers and judges during the upcoming AMA sessions (Sep 17, Oct 8) on the Microsoft Tech Community. Join the Microsoft Fabric Community Forums and Devpost Discord for Q&A and support.

Hackathon Categories:

Microsoft Fabric + AI Innovation – Build a solution using AI and Microsoft Fabric to solve real-world problems. Examples include document analysis services or anomaly detection powered by Azure OpenAI.
Real-Time Intelligence in Microsoft Fabric – Develop a solution integrating real-time data and showcasing data processing, analytics, or alerting. Open-source integrations like Apache Kafka are a plus.
Azure Database for PostgreSQL Integration – Create a solution that integrates Azure Database for PostgreSQL with Fabric, using tools like Event streaming connectors or Dataflows for real-time analytics.
SQL And AI Integration – Combine Microsoft Fabric with Azure SQL Database or SQL Server, enhanced by AI-driven analytics.
Azure Cosmos DB + Microsoft Fabric Integration – Build a solution that utilizes Microsoft Fabric with Azure Cosmos DB for analytics, using mirroring or Eventstream's CDC Connector.
Important Notes:

Extra consideration will be given for solutions that use Copilots in Microsoft Fabric.
All team members must complete the Microsoft Learn AI Skills Challenge (opens September 24, 2024, and closes by November 1, 2024).
Submissions should include a URL to your code repository, a video demo (3-5 minutes), and the Microsoft Learn usernames of all team members.
What to Submit:

Code Repository – Share your URL with the judging panel and ensure access by providing credentials to the necessary contacts.
Video Demo – Upload a 3-5 minute video demonstrating your submission to YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook Video.
Documentation – Provide a detailed explanation of how your project works, its methodology, and how it leverages Microsoft Fabric.
Prizes

Grand Prize Winner – $2,500 USD, social media recognition, a Microsoft participation badge, and a feature in a Microsoft blog post.
Best Microsoft Fabric + AI Innovation – $1,500 USD, social media recognition, and more.
Best Use of Real-Time Intelligence in Microsoft Fabric – $1,500 USD.
Best Azure Database for PostgreSQL Integration – $1,500 USD.
Best SQL and AI Integration – $1,500 USD.
Best Azure Cosmos DB + Microsoft Fabric Integration – $1,500 USD.
